Possibilities End of Year Exhibition 2014

Possibilities End of Year Exhibition 2014

It is amazing to think that it is time again for the end of year exhibition at St. John’s Central College in Cork.

Titled ‘Possibilities’ the show opens on Friday23rd May and is a collection of the student’s works showing their best and inspirational achievements to celebrate the completion of their studies at the college and mark their progression to new possibilities.

The exhibition will feature the work from Art, Design, Craft, Media and Services courses. It will showcase examples of the extensive range of creativity that is nurtured at St. John’s Central College, alongside the more professional and scientific studies which empower and provide students with the means to achieve fulfilling careers in their chosen areas.

The whole college will become a venue to display work which will include collections of photography, musical instrument making, film, fashion, interior design, motor engineering, jewellery design, multimedia, furniture, animation, graphics, illustration and computer game design.

Elmarie Mawe, arts editor & presenter at 96FM & C103 Cork, and a keen ally and supporter of further and adult education, will launch the exhibition, which opens at 6.30 pm and will include a performance by the St. John’s Gospel Choir, which is always an exciting experience.

St. John’s Central College is proud of it’s place in society, providing a wide range of further education opportunities, working from a strong base of creative, vocational and work oriented courses, with a commitment to excellence in teaching, learning and training, responding to local, national and European needs. ‘Possibilities’ is an opportunity for the public to see the vitality and depth of creative practice that is achieved by the students during their studies, and for the participating students the occasion to be honored for their accomplishments.

After the evening of the opening, the exhibition will remain accessible to the public at St. John’s College, Sawmill Street, Cork on Monday and Tuesday 26th and 27th May from 11am to 8 pm daily.
