Course outline

Have you ever wanted to learn how impossible effects in movies or modern game graphics are made?

This course is aimed at people interested in getting started with 3D Graphics. We will be using the free software Blender and the techniques will be easily applicable to industry standards. Each session will aim to have a quarter of the time taken up with demonstrating new concepts, and the remainder with students trying out the techniques on their own, with plenty of help from the teacher. The course is suited for complete beginners with little or no prior knowledge of Blender or other 3D software.

The course will include:

  • What is CGI, how is it used in movies, games, education etc.
  • Modelling and sculpting
  • Materials and texturing
