Entry Requirements
Animal Care with Veterinary Nursing

This course is designed to equip students with the skills and underlying knowledge required to work in the evolving sector of animal related industries. Students develop an understanding of the working of the animal body as well as Animal Behaviour. It also develops their computer, mathematical and communications skills essential for all employments. Practical skills are acquired in Animal Grooming and Veterinary Nursing as well as in industry through work experience.

Candidates on successful completion of FETAC Level 5 may progress to FETAC Level 6 certification to specialise in their chosen area.

Animal Care Application Process
All applications to Animal Care MUST complete a supplementary questionnaire which is part of the online application procedure. This questionnaire is to be posted to the college prior to 30th April the final date for applications before interviews the week of 25th May.

To apply to any Level 6 Animal Care course you MUST possess Level 5 or equivalent with relevant modules.

Duration
One-year full time progressing to FETAC Level 6 Certification in Veterinary Nursing, Grooming or Animal Management

FETAC (NCVA):
-Applied Science- Animal Care,
Level 5, CASAC

Progression
On successful conclusion of Level 5 Award students may progress to Level 6 Certification in Veterinary Nursing, Animal Management or Animal Grooming
