ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Art, Craft & Design

Always had an interest in art and would like to learn more.
Creative & want to try different subjects to find out what you enjoy most.
Want to prepare a portfolio for application to Art & Design Colleges.
Improve your skills in Art, Craft & Design.
Start a career as an Artist, Craftsperson or Designer.

Should you have the interest and enthusiasm, we have the teachers, coursework and facilities to nurture and grow your talent. We will guide you on your way to a creative career.
Students work with an Art & Design or Art & Craft emphasis.

Art
Drawing (including Life Drawing)
Painting
Art Appreciation
Sculpture
Combined Materials - Mixed Media & Fiber Art

Craft
Woodcraft (Wood turning, Wood carving, Pyrography, Marquetry)
Jewellery (in metal)

Design
Graphic Design & Computer Graphics
Photography (Film processing, Photographic Printing)
Printmaking

PORTFOLIO PREPARATION & Assistance for those applying to Art & Design Colleges.
College Application Guidance

*Students may have the option of doing Jewellery or Graphic Design

Communications
Work Experience

Leaving Certificate (5 passes)
Leaving Certificate Applied
or equivalent

Applicants of mature years will be considered on their merits

Students should present between five and ten examples of their creative work at interview

Duration
One-year full time
A second year option is available in Painting and professional Arts Practice - FETAC level 6 (subject to demand).

- Art/Craft/Design, Level 5, AACDX

Hands on approach, Specialist Staff
Field Trips & Speakers, Mac Room, 3D Craft Room, Darkroom.
One to one portfolio guidance.

Progression
There is a very high rate of students progression to Art & Design Colleges both in Ireland and internationally

Students may apply to a range of Higher Education Institutions through the Higher Education Links Schemes.
