This course is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to perform a range of manufacturing tasks in compliance with quality standards and good practice. The modules would reflect dynamic areas in pharmacology, medical device operations, agri-food industries and other manufacturing environments.
Ireland is one of the leading locations for the pharmaceutical industry in Europe. The students will be introduced and become involved in a growing pharmaceutical industry. This course would strive to equip students to become familiar with quality control techniques and laboratory techniques; pathway to careers in the pharmaceutical, food and medical device industries. The Irish Pharmacy Union module provides students with extensive knowledge of over the counter medicines (OTC).
Leaving Certificate (LC Established, LCVP or LCA) or equivalent For mature applicants appropriate experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

Participants will be required to undertake 10 days of work placement in a relevant location. The college will assist participants in identifying suitable placements.
